Reflection

I chose the theme of friendship and family because I got the biggest response to those aspects of the book; it stood out the most. The quotes I chose were clear examples of this theme. Putting the Bible quotes in and having to figure out how it goes with the story was difficult. I chose the Bible verse(s) that stood out the most, just like my theme. Both quotes were from Proverbs and talked about brothers. In the story you learn that Hassen and Amir were half-brothers. Hassen was loyal and always there for Amir; whereas Amir was embarrassed, jealous, and a horrible friend to Hassen. I realized that Baba and Amir was the family part of the theme, but I had a harder time explaining that because I was to focused on Amir and Hassen's friendship. This book made me sad, but I was really good. I couldn't get over the fact that Amir left Hassen; it was the reason I chose this theme.

The images I chose felt like they fit. They looked good with the quote and help add feeling to the quote. I really liked what I had originally done, where they were in black and white, but I couldn't get it on here.

Overall I felt that this theme was the one that I would enjoy doing the most.
